Fast forward to now, and OpenAI, the brains behind ChatGPT, has introduced a way for anyone to fashion their own version of ChatGPT, called GPTs. In a matter of minutes, you can build your own tailored GPT to suit your personal or business objectives.
Here's a guide on creating your custom ChatGPT using OpenAI's GPT builder.
Note: Currently, building a custom GPT is exclusive to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise users.

1. What are GPTs?
GPTs are individualized versions of ChatGPT crafted by OpenAI users. Simply convey your desires to the GPT builder in plain English, and it takes care of the rest. For instance, when I asked it to create a chatbot sharing fun facts about otters, here's what the GPT builder suggested.
You can also configure your GPT to browse the web, generate images using DALLE·3, and run code.
While ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise users can customize ChatGPT responses, the GPT builder enhances this by allowing the creation of multiple GPTs with unlimited customization and the ability to upload knowledge source files.
2. How to Build Your Own Custom ChatGPT:
a. Go to chat.openai.com and log in.
b. In the sidebar, click Explore.
c. Click Create a GPT.
d. Enter instructions in the message box.
e. Click Configure for advanced customization.
f. Click Save and choose sharing preferences.
g. Click Confirm.
3. Log in to your OpenAI account:
Before starting, ensure you have a ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise account. If you encounter login issues, try reloading the page.
4. Create your GPT:
a. In the sidebar, click Explore.
b. Click Create a GPT.
c. Enter instructions in the message box.
d. The GPT builder suggests a chatbot name, profile picture, and conversation starters.
e. Refine instructions to fine-tune your chatbot's behavior.
5. Configure your GPT:
a. Click Configure.
b. Modify advanced settings like name, description, profile picture, instructions, conversation starters, knowledge, capabilities, and actions.
6. Save your GPT:
a. Click Save.
b. Select sharing preferences: Only me, Only people with a link, or Public.
c. Click Confirm.
7. Share your GPT:
a. In the sidebar, click Explore.
b. Click the GPT you want to share.
c. Click the down caret (∨) next to the chatbot's name.
d. Click Copy link and share.
How to Edit Your Custom Chatbot:
To edit, click Explore, then Edit next to the GPT. Update settings, click Update, and Confirm.
How to Delete Your Custom GPT:
To delete, click Explore, More icon next to GPT, Delete GPT, and confirm.
